
Dominic Cosic (Concord) and Richard Kimmel (Shaker Hts) three-peat at the JB Four-Ball Classic. They had 3 birdies and 3 bogeys to shoot 35-36–71 (E). Ethan and his father Dana Olszowy (Avon) were right there, only needing 1 birdie over the last seven holes to tie it up. They had a bogey on there 17th hole instead and that set them back to +3 for a 2nd place finish.
Sand Ridge Junior Invitational – July 8 & 9
The highlight event of the junior tour season is always the Sand Ridge Junior Invitational. Sand Ridge was formerly a top 100 course in America and still ranks as one of the top courses in Ohio. It’s a course you don’t want to miss! This event draws a quality field from NCJT members, Joe Haase Cup qualifiers from around Ohio and other elite juniors around our region. The event is also a double points event for the Classic Cup rankings. Caddies are permitted at this invitational. On Monday, July 8 tee times begin at 12pm and a full burger lunch is served before play. On Tuesday, July 9 tee times begin at 8am with lunch after play.
The Team Championship Update
The season-long team championship is proving to be an exciting competition with the Mizuno/Bridgestone Team leading with 4 big events to go. The Mizuno/Bridgestone team is being lead by the consistent play of Austin Funk (Medina) and Wren Spires (Medina). Other contributors have been Elena Varga (Hudson) with her 3 under round at Pine Ridge, Megh Upadhyay (Reminderville), Matt Contipelli (Solon), Vince Feudo (Solon) and Koen Van Scoy (Hudson). The Ping/Cleveland/Srixon Team is in 2nd place and is being lead by Will Cody (Shaker Hts), Kyle Boyd (Willoughby), Tyler Hace (Willoughby) and Jimmy Hoose (Wickliffe). These good players could easily close the gap on the leaders. The Titleist/Callaway Team has been on a roll lately and is rising to the top quickly. This team is being lead lately by Michael Jaycic (Chesterland) and Lincoln Miller (Concord) with great rounds at Pine Ridge 74 and 76 respectively. Andrew Betz (Mentor) and Kaiden Kohler (Bristolville), had 75 & 74 respectively at Signature of Solon, their great rounds were the start the team’s comeback charge. At Tanglewood, Betz and Jaycic were solid again with 77 and 78, but Andreas Reider (Concord) had 76 to lead the team to a 3.79 overall differential.

JR-4AM at Quail Hollow- Sunday, July 21
THIS IS OUR SCHOLARSHIP AWARD EVENT TOO!
This showcase event highlights our tour and its outstanding junior golfers to local amateurs that support junior golf. Itโs vitally important that our top players sign-up to play in the special event to support the tour. Each junior will be assigned to an amateur team. Just sign-up and we do the team assignments. Also, NCJT parents, family and friends are encouraged to bring their own foursome to participant and to support junior golf. The event is a shotgun start at 2pm on Sunday evening and the format is a team scramble for the amateurs and an individual stroke play for the juniors. However, the juniors score can be used as well as some of their playing skills for the amateurโs team score. Each enter ($150) includes golf, carts, food and drinks on the course and a awards dinner after golf. Itโs a very special day, so please plan to support NCJT, its scholarship and the juniors that play on tour. All 2024 NCJT members are also eligible for theย Denny Spaulding Scholarship. All scholarship applications are due 10 days prior to the July 21st event, making July 11th as the deadline. The links to all JR-4M activities are below.
