Boys 16-19
Kaiden Kohler (Bristolville) shot 39-35–74, after a triple bogey start, to win the Boys 16-19 division. Kaiden’s tee shot on #1 went right and ended up against an OB stake. He took an unplayable and made 7. Over the next 17 holes, Kaiden made 16 pars and 1 birdie. That was very impressive golf on the tight course with challenging slopes on all the greens. Andrew Betz (Mentor) finished 2nd with 39-36–75. Andrew finished 2 under on his last 3 holes. Matthew Contipelli (Solon) had one big hiccup in his round, with a 10 on the par 5 4th hole. Matthew had 16 pars and 1 birdie on the other 17 holes to finish 3rd with 41-35–76.
Boys 15 & Under
Austin Funk (Medina) and Noah Risman (Moreland Hills) tied for 1st with rounds of 80 (+8). Austin birdied the last hole to tied. He shot 42-38–80. Noah had 41-39–80. He started with a double bogey and played solid without making a birdie. Will Cody (Shaker Hts) continued is solid play with 40-41–81 for 3rd. Will also birdied his final hole.
