NCJT – Tanglewood Results

Boys 16-19

No Tie for Ty

It looked like the boys 16 to 19 age group was going to end up another sister kisser (old school slang for a tie in sports) but Ty Roediger (Chardon) said “not so fast” and drained a birdie on the final hole to claim (38-39–77) sole possession of the coveted Champions Trophy. After a steady 2 over par front nine consisting of 7 pars and 2 bogies, Roediger decided to make things interesting, rollercoastering to a three over part second nine that included 2 birdies, a double and a triple. of a day for Roediger

Boys 15 & Under

Wren Spires (Medina) had 40-34–74 to win the Boys 15 & Under division. Wren had a great back nine that included an eagle and a birdie. Wren had several drives in the 300 yard range and his eagle on #12 was a hole-out from the fairway. Austin Funk (Medina) shot 40-42–82 to finish 2nd, Austin had one birdie and his only big mistake was on #18 where he had a triple bogey. Zachary Raulie (Medina) finished 3rd with 44-40–84.

Girls 19 & Under

Anuja Patel (Pepper Pike) cruised to her first win on tour with a 44-47–91. Anuja had an early birdie on the par 5 2nd hole. She also added 3 pars. Kiera Chang (Chagrin Falls) had 54-44–98 to finish 2nd. Macey McGhee (Independence) shot 52-49–101 for 3rd place.

Highlights of the Day

On #4, Anthony Frank (Willoughby Hills) got the party started by dropping an eagle putt from 18 feet. Then on the back nine Andreas Reider and Wren Spires holed-out shots from the fairway for eagles, making for a great day of highlights.
