Today, February 1st is opening day for the NCJT Tour Membership. The 2025 NCJT tour season is shaping up to be a fantastic year. The tour schedule is outstanding once again, the regular season entry fees remain the same for 2025, the Team Championship is back along with all its great sponsors, and we added a new trimmed down membership type for less cost.

Additionally, for the first 15 days of February we are offering an Early Bird discount on all membership types. The Early Bird discounts run now thru February 15th.

The 2025 schedule has 10 regular season events, two invitationals, two special events (were Alumni are to play), and two championships. Tour Membership has its perks, see the full details on the membership page. Now is a great time to invite your friends and teammates to join the tour, also remind your golf coaches to get your other players on tour. Summer golf on the NCJT tour is extremely important for honing golf skills and gaining tournament experience, which lead to better results in fall high school golf. It’s also vital for building a strong resume for college golf recruiters. We are known for developing junior golfers into real tournament players, and parents love our live hole-by-hole scoring and our consistent 4 hour rounds. We also host 6 events that post to the Junior golf Scoreboard’s World Rankings for Junior Golfers, the #1 recruiting site for college coaches. If college golf is a goal, please visit our College Golf section on our website, we offer very important information about college golf that you may not find elsewhere. The Mini-Tour is for juniors ages 12 and under. These 9 holes competitions allow very young juniors a chance to compete and experience tournament golf. Being around experienced and elite players is very inspiring for our mini-tour players and a great way to enhance a young players drive to become a good tournament player.

The Team Championship

The Team Championship was a big hit in 2024 and will be back in 2025. All the big golf brands are back as sponsors! The team championship allows teammates, from the same high school, to compete together all summer for a chance to win the team championship title. It’s a great way to build the team spirit and prepare your game for a successful high school season in the fall. The award and prizes are very unique for the championship team members. In 2024, the Mizuno/Bridgestone team captured the title and all team members won a plaque and a gift packet from their sponsors. The whole prize packet included: a dozen balls from Mizuno and Bridgestone, a Mizuno hat and the plaque with all the team members listed.

The Team Championship Awards

The Championship Team was the Mizuno/Bridgestone team and we’d like to thank both sponsors for their generous award gifts. All team members are eligible to claim their prizes (Bridgestone’s prize was a dozen golf balls and Mizuno’s was a dozen golf balls and a hat). There are two ways to claim your prize if you are a member of the winning team (see list below). To claim your Championship Award package, you must do so by December 31, 2024.

The annual NCJT Awards and Hall of Fame Dinner will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Sunny Street Cafe in Concord, Ohio. An official invite (From Greenvelope) has been sent to all members and parents (we’ll be resending now too). If you didn’t receive an invite, please email your preferred email address to tmilam@ncjt.org.

Everyone should RSVP either Attending or Not Attending. The dinner is open to everyone involved with NCJT, family and friends are welcome too. The invite offers options on how you can receive your year-end award and purchase dinner tickets. The Team Championship winners will receive special prizes at the dinner from their team sponsors (Mizuno and Bridgestone).

NCJT Players at High School State Championships

Boys Division I – Jackson Pinney (University School) and Wren Spires (Medina) made it to the state championship. Jackson finished 14th.

Boys Division II – The Chagrin Falls team finished 4th at the state championship. Charlie Pollock lead Chagrin Falls with a T26 finish. Noah Risman finished T28. Jack Watson finished T30. Owen Adelman finished T33.

Girls Division II – Anuja Patel (Orange) qualified individually for the state championship and finished an impressive T8 (76-82–158).

Tour Championship – Boy 16-19

Kyle Boyd (Willoughby) won the overall championship with rounds of 77-71–148. His second round 71 was very impressive. He parred #1, doubled the par 4 #2, then he was 2 under for the next 16 holes. He birdied 15 & 16 and parred all the rest. Great playing! Jack Watson (Chagrin Falls) had 5 birdies on the Weiskopf course in round 2 to finish 2nd with 79-73–152. Marcus Berrios (Concord) and Ethan Olszowy (Avon) tied at 163 and after a scorecard playoff to decide ties under the USGA method, Ethan won 3rd place with the lower back nine score on the final round.

Tour Championship – Boys 15 & Under

Wren Spires (Medina) had 78-82–160 to win the Boys 15 and under division. Wren had 6 birdies over the 36-hole competition. Lincoln Miller (Concord) was 2nd with 80-85–165. Aiden Curtis (Mentor) was 3rd with 83-84–167.

Tour Championship – Girls 19 & Under

Elena Varga (Hudson) wins the Girls 19 & Under division with 82-79–161. Elena had a strong finish playing the last 5 holes 1 under par. She eagled the par 5 15th in the stretch. Macey McGhee (Independence) was 2nd with 89-87–176.

Tour Championship – Mini-Tour

Preston Tolnar (Canfield) had a 38-40–78 on the Weiskopf course from 5,800 yards at age 10 (shown in champions photo above). Preston made the finals of the 2024 Drive, Chip and Putts. The finals are hosted annually at the Augusta National in conjunction with the The Masters Tournament. He has already make it through the 1st stage of qualifying for 2025 and hopes to make it back to Augusta National again next year. Good Luck Preston!

Junior – 4 Amateur Scholarship Golf Classic

In the Junior Division former Tour Champion Ryan Chipps (Painesville) shot 68 (-3) to win the title. Dominik Cosic (Concord) had 69 (-2) for 2nd place. Antonio Bodzoiny (Mentor) and Nick Longano (Concord) had 71’s (E).

The Tomazic Team (Brian Tomazic, Mike Schubert, Mike Mather & Luke Ulrych) won the team title with a scramble score of 57 (-14). The Kallay Team (Mitch Kallay, Shane Kalley (Former NCJT Player), Mark Shenker & Kevin Shenker) tied them at 57 (-14) but lost in the scorecard playoff.

Denny Spaulding Scholarship

At the Junior-AM, Elena Varga (Hudson) won the Denny Spaulding Scholarship. Congratulations Elena, well deserved!

The Team Championship

The Mizuno/Bridgestone Team wins the season-long Team Championship. The final results from the Tour Championship was the clincher for the Mizuno/Bridgestone Team, with 4 scores from each team counting. Wren Spires 160, Elena Varga 161, Jack Phillips 167 and Macey McGhee 176 were the final scores to pull the team to victory.

Boys 16-19

Andrew Betz (Mentor) shot 36-37–73 to win the Boys 16-19 division. Andrew was steady all day with 14 pars. His only birdie came on the par 5 16th. Owen Adelman (Chagrin Falls) was a close 2nd with 38-37–75. Owen had two birdies.

Boys 15 & Under

Aiden Curtis (Mentor) captured his first win in the Boys 15 & Under division with 40-38–78. Aiden had 2 birdies and played holes 8-13 at 2 under (a good sign that his game is capable). Lincoln Miller (Concord) had 37-44–81 to finish 2nd. Lincoln had a troublesome back nine that started bogey, double, double. On #12, he incurred a Wrong Ball penalty. He did bounce back with a birdie on #13, but he bogeyed 4 of the last 5 holes to finish 3 back.

Girls 19 & Under

Taylor Wallingford (Concord) had her low round of the tour season with 48-55–103 to win the Girls 19 & Under division.

Girls 19 & Under

Lily Beebe (Brecksville) shot 49-56–105 to beat Taylor Wallingford (Concord) by one stroke to capture the Girls 19& Under title. The highlight of Lily’s round was a great birdie putt on sloped 7th green.

July 8 & 9, 2024

Boys 16-19

Henry Phillips (Warren) shot 74-76–150 to win the Boys 16-19 division at the Sand Ridge Junior Invitational. Henry managed the course well and avoided making a double-bogey over his first 28 holes. He had two birdies and 12 pars each day. Henry finished one stroke ahead of the charging Dominik Cosic (Concord). Dominik had 75-76–151 to finish 2nd. Dominik was 7 over for the tournament after 29 holes and Henry was 4 over and 3 strokes ahead at the time. Then, Dominik birdied 12 and 13 to grab a share of the lead. On 14, Henry made birdie and was one stroke ahead. On 15 Dominik drove the 285 green and was putting for eagle from 40 feet. He three putted and they tied the hole. On 16, Dominik tried to drive the green from 305 yards, but his tee shot ended up falling short in the water. After a penalty, Dominik made a quality bogey. Henry had a tricky chip and hit a fine shot to 10 feet, but he ended up three putting for double bogey, They are tied once again. Dominik made bogey #17, which gave Henry a one stroke lead going into 18. Dominik hit two great shots to have a 12 footer for eagle. He ran his first putt by 4 feet and missed the birdie putt coming back. Henry made a solid par and won the tournament by one stroke. Ethan Olszowy (Avon) 79-73–152, also made a run at the leaders. Ethan was 11 over par after 29 holes and played the last 7 holes in three under par to finish (+8) and one stroke behind Dominik for 3rd place. Ethan’s 73 was the low round of the tournament. He had 5 birdies today and he birdied his last two holes (#17 and #18).

Boys 15 & Under

Jack Hecei (Avon) fired a 80-76–156 to win the Boys 15 & Under division. Jack only had 2 birdies over 36 holes, but his ball striking was outstanding. His putter wasn’t friendly to him on the greens. Jack bombed a number of drives and one of his highlights came on the 285 yard par 4, 15th hole in round one, where he landed his drive on the green and two putted for birdie. Lincoln Miller (Concord) finished 2nd with 81-77–158. Lincoln had a strong finish with birdies on #15 and #18 to shoot 37 on his final nine holes. Austin Funk (Medina) shot 81-81–162 and finished 3rd. Austin made 2 birdies on the front nine today and shot 39.

Girls 19 & Under

Ella Baird (Aron) shot 80-78–158 to win the Girls 19 & under division. She played solid and didn’t make double bogey or higher over 36 holes. Her best nine was the front nine of round 2, where she shot 37.
