Introducing the Inaugural 2024 Team Championship!
Embarking on a groundbreaking journey, we’re thrilled to unveil the first-ever Team Championship in local junior golf for the upcoming 2024 season!
The New Team Championship:
Get ready for an electrifying season-long contest where camaraderie takes center stage. Rally your teammates and dive into the excitement awaiting you. Each junior player will be assigned to a team for the entirety of the season, organized by regions and closely tied to school districts. Below, we present a preliminary map, subject to finalization before the season opener on June 4th. Anticipating a balanced competition, we foresee the formation of eight teams of equal size.
This prestigious competition boasts its own dedicated scoreboard and season-long rankings, providing a captivating narrative as the competition unfolds. Every stroke play tournament will contribute to the team championship scoring, with the number of players counting towards the team’s total score varying based on the tournament’s field size.
The Team Championship seamlessly integrates with individual stroke-play competitions, offering a multi-faceted golfing experience.
Furthermore, the new team concept will not alter the benefits of our individual stroke play competitions or the 36-Hole competitions posted to the Junior Golf Scoreboard “JGS”. JGS competitions amplify the visibility of our elite junior golfers with their Junior Golfer World Rankings—a premier platform for college coaches scouting their next golfing prodigy.
There are no additional costs or registration associated with the Team Championship; everyone is automatically placed on a team. It’s simply a fantastic way to foster team spirit and competitiveness on our junior tour!
What’s particularly thrilling about the introduction of the new team championship is that it opens up a wonderful opportunity for junior golfers to compete alongside their school teammates throughout the summer. It presents an excellent avenue for enticing those who may have been holding out on summer golf to finally join in and participate in tournament play. As we’re well aware, this participation directly correlates with improved performance for school teams! It’s time to rally the troops and encourage all teammates to join us in saying, “Get on Tour in 2024!”

The NJCT Tour Schedule has been posted on our schedule page. Tournament registrations will open Friday, March 15.
