NCJT – Manakiki Results

Boys 16-19

Miller Slams the Door.

Lincoln Miller (Concord) left no doubt at the end of his round today at Manakiki to claim top honors in the Boys 16 to 19 Age Group. Tied for the lead as he walked onto his 17th hole of the tournament, the par four 8th, Miller posted not one, but two consecutive birdies to conclude his round and post a two stroke victory over Jayden Park (Pepper Pike) (40-38–78). Miller’s four over par 76 (38-38) paced the field on the always challenging Manakiki track. Ty Roediger (Chardon) was a stroke back with a 79 (40-39).

Boys 15 & Under

Tolnar Outlasts the Field

Preston Tolnar (Canfield) played steady golf throughout the day to post a one stroke victory in the Boys 15 and Under Age Division. Tolnar carded no worse than a bogey while putting up matching nines of 41 to finish at ten over par 82. Tour newcomer Luca Parrotta (Mayfield Village) birdie his 17th hole, the par four 8th, to share the lead with Tolnar but a bogey on his final hole left him one stroke off the pace at 83 (41-42). Punderson winner Iulio Braho (University Heights) was one behind Parrotta with an 84 (42-42).

Girls 19 and Under

Kothera Grinds to Victory

Sometimes surviving is good enough. That’s the lesson that Maggie Kothera (Kirtland) learned today at Manakiki as an uncharacteristic round of 49-54–103 was 12 strokes off of her 2025 NCJT Tournament scoring average but proved to be just enough to take home the win. Kothera finished 2 strokes ahead of Samantha Miller (Solon) who recovered from a tough opening hole to card a 53-52–105. Miller looks to get payback on Thursday at Signature of Solon, her home course.

Girls 19 & Under – Varga Goes Back to Back

Elena Varga (Hudson) made it two wins in as many days as she backed up her win at Little Mountain with another at Punderson. Her four-over round 39-37–76 was eight better than Ava Solak (Chagrin Falls) who was runner-up. Elena had 7 pars and 2 birdies in her round, highlighted by a one-over par second nine. Maggie Kothera (Kirtland) was third in the field with a round of 90.

Boys 16 to 19 – Where there’s a Will, there’s a way!

Will Cody (Shaker Heights) bested the field in Boys 16 to 19 action. His included four birdie round enroute to a seven over par 79(43-36). After a slow start marked by par-double-double on holes 10, 11 and 12, Cody righted the ship playing his last 10 holes one under par. Cody’s round was one better than a pair of 80’s by Wren Spires (Medina) and Wednesday’s winner, Lincoln Miller (Concord).

Boys 15 and Under – Welcome to the NCJT, Iulius Braho.

Playing in only his second NCJT event, Tour newcomer Iulius Braho (University Heights) walked away a champion. In a highly competitive field where only four shots separated first through fourth place, Braho’s round of 39-40–79 was enough to outlast a pair of 81s by Aiden Curtis (Mentor) and Wednesday’s co-champion, Liam Siko (Mentor). Wednesday’s other co-champ Preston Tolnar (Canfield) was two strokes behind with an 83.
