Another Miracle Day at Pine Ridge

Before we announce the big news of the day, we need to mention the minor miracle of beating the weather forecast once again. We needed a 6 hour window for the event and we got the exact 6 hour time frame we needed. Speaking of time, today we set the second best pace of play time ever on NCJT, 3 hours and 48 minutes was the last flag in time. The record time today was accomplished by many playing efficient factors, and was highlighted by the temporary creation of two 6-somes and a great committee effort on many fronts. Congrats to all contestants today and as customary you have earned “Skittles for Skedaddlers” for the second time this season. The Skittles hand out will be at the Firecracker on June 30.

Here are the highlights from today:

Antonio Bodziony barely hung-on to win the Boys 16-19 division with a final score of 74. Antonio was -1 going to the 17th and finished bogey, triple. He finished one better than Thomas Coyne at 75. Thomas was 4 over through the first 5 holes, but played even par for the remainder of the round (including 4 birdies). Ryan Green, Joey Kubic, Gunnar McCollins and Bentley Stover had 76’s for finish T-3rd.

Robert Kimmel had the low round of the day with a 73 (including 3 birdies) and won the Boys 14-15 division. Dominik Cosic finished second with 77.

Ella Wong won another Girls 16-19 event with a round of 82 (including 9 pars). Marina Marusic finished 2nd with a 48-37–85. Marina had a 48 on the front nine, but scored a 37 on the back nine. What a great turn around!

The bad break of the day went to Bentley Stover, who’s nearly 300 yard drive on the 18th found this terrible lie in a tree.
