Robert Kimmel wins his first NCJT tour event at Manakiki today. His score of 76 was low by 9 strokes in the Boys 14-15 division, but only one back in the overall boys. Robert started double-double-birdie, then he played steady until he finished 2 under on the last six, which included a birdie on the tough 18th. Great Playing!
Bentley Stover shot 75 at Manakiki and wins again, but it wasn’t a sure thing until the last hole was finished. Nathan Strack was +2 with two to play and went bogey-quad to finish +7. Ryan Green was +1 going to 14 and went 3 over on the last 5 holes. Antonio Bodziony was +3 after 8, +6 after 12, then he had two birdies and an eagle to get back to +3 going into the 18th. Antonio and Ryan both finished with bogeys on the 18th, while Bentley finished with a birdie to create a two shot swing on the final hole. Bentley has now won 5 straight tournament on the 2018 NCJT tour.
Laine Hursh won the Girls division at Manakiki dispite a bogey-double-double finish. Laine’s 81 was 5 better than Olivia Zampedro’s 86. Olivia had a worst finish as she was 8 over par on the last 6 holes.
