Hot Play and Hot Weather at The Tour Championship!

The Tour Championship took place this week at Quail Hollow Country Club with a heavy dose of heat and humidity.  This two day tournament was the final event of the year and many fond farewells went out to some of our finest graduates.

Sloe TC Holding Finish

Christopher Sloe was just two shots off the lead going into the final day where he shot an even par 71 to win the Boys 16-19 division by 3 strokes with a 148 total.  Andrew Britton was only one back after 14 holes on the final day, but lost 2 more strokes to Sloe over the final 4 holes to finish 2nd at 151.  Sloe and Britton will be team mates this fall at John Carroll University.

Naime TC69

In the Boys 14-15 Division, Dean Naime struggled on the first day shooting an 11 over par 82, but came back the next day with a 2 under par 69 to win by two shots.  Naime shot a 4 under par 31 on his opening nine that led him to his victory.  Naime from Cario, Egypt was able to overtake the solid play of Jules Blakely who had 77-76–153 and finish 2nd in the championship.

Colton TC final day

Colton Levey came out the first day firing on all cylinders to shoot a first round 69.  The next day he continued his good play to shoot a two day score of 146 and win the Boys 13 & Under Division by 3 shots.  Levey had to hold off a major charge by Danny Milo, who shot a one under par 70 on the final round.  Levey took advantage of the par fives, playing them at two under par for the tournament.

Newman TC final day

Haley Newman was in control of her game this week especially off the tee where she hit 18 of the 26 fairways.  She shot two consecutive 81’s to win the Girls 19 & Under Division by nine shots.
