Going into the final round of The Firecracker at Tam O’Shanter (July 1), Nick Scharf and Avery Ovens held the lead. Scharf struck the ball very well today, hitting 8 fairways and 10 greens in regulation to finish with a 78-74–154 total to win the Overall Boys. Ovens play consistent and won the Overall Girls with 94-88–182.
In the single day competition at Tam O’Shanter, Michael Vallee fired a 73 to win the Boys 16-19 division, thanks to his 12 putts on the back nine. In the Boys 14-15 age group, Dean Naime led the way with a 2 over par 72. Naime shot an even par 36 on his final nine that included 3 birdies. Jay Magyari and Colton Levey tied for low round for the Boys 13 & Under at 78. These two have been challenging each other at the top of the leader board every tournament this year. Today, Colton was able to pickup 3 strokes over the last two holes to catch Jay. Jessica Hahn shot the low round for the Overall Girls today with a round of 75. She converted her 10 greens in regulation into three birdies on the day. Kaylee Neumeister won the Girls 16-19 with a 79 and continues her win streak for the season.
