Playing High School golf may have you thinking about college golf as an option for the future. One of the steps to prepare for college golf recruiting is to have a golf swing video ready to share with coaches. A college coach usually has an initial checklist they need answered before putting any time into a potential recruit:
- What is their grade point and test scores? (GPA and ACT or SAT)
- What can they shoot? (Resume of competitive results)
- What does their golf swing, chipping action and putting stroke look like. (Golf Swing Video)
If you pass those three steps you have a good chance of being contacted by the coach. A good tip is to start early and keep sending them updates (one and done rarely works). Ninth and Tenth graders should already be in the recruiting process. Many coaches have their 2016 recruits lined-up and are working on 2017, but not all. Smaller programs are still recruiting for 2015, but now is the time to contact them.
