Heaven calls Mr. Dawson to the tee!

Jim Dawson was called to the “First Tee in Heaven” Sunday, March 27, 2012 at 1:00 pm.

Jim was a wonderful man and a friend to all!  He spent 19 years with the North Coast Junior Golf Tour.  He single handily did more for junior golf in Northeast Ohio than anyone in the history of the region.  In 2006 we, as the tour, honored him and proclaimed him as Mr. Junior Golf of Greater Cleveland.  He really loved helping junior golfers learn tournament golf.  He knew the value of running top-notch tournaments and loved to see good scores from the players.  He enjoyed seeing his players do well on their school teams and even got to see some of them flourish in the professional ranks.  The past few years he was thrilled to have two of his former players succeeding on the PGA Tour, Jason Dufner and Jason Kokrak; when one of them scored that valuable Sunday afternoon tee time, he would be glued to the TV until the finish.  It’s ironic that Heaven gave Mr. Dawson that magical Sunday afternoon tee time that he always cherished.

From all of us on the Junior Tour,

our thoughts and prayers will always be with you!
